Theme
An upside-down figure pressed against glass, refusing to give in: human fragility and the strength to resist.

A figure traced in yellow silicone is squashed against a sheet of glass, upside down. Its legs open upwards and its head presses against the bottom edge. Around it, quick black brushstrokes close in the space like a limit to push against.
The body is compressed, but it does not give way. It is the gesture of someone who has been knocked over and still tries to hold themselves up, and pressure becomes resistance. Strip away the superstructures and the human being is left as flesh and bone: fragile, yet able to get back up.
The glass reflects its surroundings, and the viewer finds themselves inside the work, on the same side as the figure.
