A monumental sculpture in flat and round iron profiles, “Aliena” explores otherness and mystery, fusing minimalism and sculptural presence in a figure that captures the eye and the imagination.
“Aliena” (Alien) is a sculpture made in 2009 at the Paolo Fusi Lab, in flat and round iron profiles, measuring 270×90 cm. It stands out for its verticality and the essential construction of the figure, which recalls an alien, mysterious presence.
Through a skilful use of iron, alternating solid and void, the sculpture conveys lightness and strength at once. “Aliena” invites the viewer to question identity and diversity, turning industrial material into a symbol of introspection and openness to the unknown.
The work can converse with both indoor and outdoor spaces, carrying a tension between familiarity and estrangement, between roots and the possibility of meeting the other.
