This work stages a cutting mockery: a gold-plated steel tank, symbol of power and of the arms business, standing in for the themes of the ecological transition.
The green decoration, seemingly eco-friendly, is nothing more than an excuse: a superficial veneer that tries to show the defence industry in a more acceptable, modern light. In reality, the true nature of the object remains intact, and the ecological rhetoric turns out to be merely an attempt to mask interests and contradictions.
The work pokes fun at widespread hypocrisy, inviting us to consider how often “defence” is used to justify perpetuating the logic of power, profit and conflict.
