A steel and corten sculpture exploring emptiness and rebirth, “From nothing to nothing” invites reflection on the cycle of matter and the endless possibilities of transformation.

“From nothing to nothing” is a steel and corten sculpture that tells of the transformation of matter through an essential, powerful language. Part of the contemporary art collection on display in San Casciano Val di Pesa, it stands out for its clean, geometric cuts that let light filter through, creating an interplay of absence and presence.

Paolo Fusi explores emptiness as both origin and end, suggesting that every rebirth begins with an absence, a space waiting to be filled. The worked, oxidised metal surface emphasises the contrast between strength and fragility, between matter and immateriality.

“From nothing to nothing” invites the viewer on an introspective journey, evoking deep emotions and existential questions. A work that turns matter into thought, for those who look to art as a prompt for reflection and inner dialogue.
