A series of pieces in ground corten on a steel frame, “Faces” explores the multiplicity of human identity through essential, tactile faces.
“Faces” is a series of pieces made in 2020 at the Paolo Fusi Lab, in ground corten on a steel frame, each measuring 30×30 cm. The work stands out for its ability to evoke the variety and complexity of human identity through stylised faces and the dialogue between rough surfaces and essential lines.
Ground in a particular way, the corten gives back iridescent reflections and unique textures, while the steel frame underlines the solidity and rigour of the composition. Each face becomes a symbol of introspection, memory and belonging, inviting viewers to recognise themselves in the endless nuances of being human.
“Faces” reflects on the fragility of the self and on the search for a synthesis between matter and feeling, presence and absence. A work suited to contemporary interiors that value the expressive force of matter and the depth of artistic thought.
