A steel sculpture that reinvents the figure of the dragon through essential, dynamic forms. “Drago in improvvisazione” is energy, play and creative freedom, suspended between matter and fantasy.

“Drago in improvvisazione” (Improvised Dragon) is a steel sculpture made in 2021 and installed at Nexterior in Florence. 200 cm high and 130 cm wide, it depicts a stylised dragon built from improvised lines and metal segments that evoke movement, strength and lightness.

The metal, worked by hand and left in its essential state, turns matter into a creative gesture, suggesting freedom and improvisation. The dragon, a symbol of energy and transformation, becomes a bridge between reality and imagination, tradition and the present day.

The work invites the viewer to be surprised by the power of the mark and the vitality of the form, embodying the spirit of research and experimentation that defines Paolo Fusi’s work.
