A monumental corten steel sculpture expressing balance between strength and lightness. “ARMONIA” turns matter into a sign of peace, in dialogue with the Alpine landscape.
“Armonia” (Harmony) is a sculpture in oxidised corten steel (250 x 80 cm, 2020), installed in Briançon, France. It stands out for its sinuous lines and its composition of solid and void, which play with natural light and give back warm, deep reflections in constant change.
Corten, a robust and resilient material, is worked here to convey visual lightness and harmony, expressing the search for balance between matter and spirit, nature and human intervention.
Armonia grew out of the Fiori Fantasy series, but here the commission was tied to the edelweiss: so I shifted my language from the invented flowers of Fiori Fantasy to the form and symbolism of the edelweiss, building a bridge between personal fantasy and a tribute to Alpine nature.
