“Nel buio” (In the Dark) is a tactile piece (95 x 95 cm, 2018) in silicone on galvanised steel. It grew from the wish to heighten the strength and vitality of colour on a deliberately dark surface: the contrast between light and shadow becomes a metaphor for the deepest, most complex moments of the human soul.

From the darkness of the material, as from the dark places of experience, colours re-emerge, affirming that energy, hope and beauty can be found again even after the hardest times. A work that invites us to recognise the creative power hidden even in the bleakest situations.
