A work that tells of the strength and resilience of nature in an urban setting. A tree grows and spreads through a metal grid, a symbol of the will to live that overcomes every artificial barrier.
Description
“Libera espressione della natura urbanizzata” (Free Expression of Urbanised Nature) is a sculpture/installation born from watching how nature adapts and reclaims space even where human presence dominates. The work sets a tree trunk against an urban metal structure: the spontaneous growth of the wood crosses and defies the rigidity of the galvanised steel grid, creating a powerful visual and conceptual contrast.
The work invites reflection on the relationship between city and natural environment, highlighting life’s ability to always find a way, even in the most inhospitable settings. The artistic intervention simply brings this tension to light, letting nature itself take centre stage.
The work belongs to Paolo Fusi’s “NATURAL” series, which has long explored the dialogue between industrial materials and organic forms, offering a new perspective on contemporary art and sustainability.
