A tactile piece in silicone on oxidised aluminium, “Sfregiata” tells of the beauty and strength born from a wound, turning the mark into an expression of resilience and identity.

“Sfregiata” (Scarred) is a piece made in 2020 at the Paolo Fusi Gallery, in silicone shaped on an oxidised aluminium tray, measuring 94×94 cm. It stands out for its marked surface, where abrasions and material interventions interact with transparency and light, creating a visual story of wound and rebirth.

Spread and worked by hand, the silicone weaves into the textures of the oxidised aluminium, emphasising the contrast between vulnerability and strength. “Sfregiata” invites the viewer to reflect on the value of the mark, on the memory of experience and on the ability to turn suffering into new beauty.

A work suited to contemporary interiors and spaces that value experimentation with materials and the dialogue between art, identity and resilience.
