A figure held up by its own shadow: personality becomes foundation and strength.
“I Stand Alone” belongs to the I Stand Alone series and gives direct form to the bond between identity and presence. Here the shadow is not merely a visual effect but a metaphor for personality: it is this very shadow, the symbol of what we are inside, that supports the figure and allows it to stand.
The sculpture suggests that our true strength comes from personality, ideas and inner richness. Without this deeper dimension, we would be nothing but empty, unstable forms.
The work invites the viewer to consider how essential it is to recognise and value one’s own shadow – one’s own uniqueness – as the solid ground on which to build one’s life and balance.
